B2B SEO
Search engine optimization for companies that sell to other businesses, aimed at the searches your buyers make before they ever speak to you.
What gets done
Which parts matter depends on the site and the market. Most engagements involve several of them.
- Search research
- Finding the searches your buyers actually make, including ones your competitors have not noticed.
- Site structure
- How pages are grouped and linked, so that search engines and readers can find their way around.
- Technical SEO
- Crawling, page speed and structured data. A problem here can hold back every page on the site.
- Content for buyers
- Pages written for someone comparing suppliers, who will only read on if the page is useful to them.
- Migrations
- Redesigns and domain changes carried out without losing the rankings you already have.
- Measurement
- Tracking that connects search traffic to leads and sales.
- AI search
- Whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI answers mention your company when buyers ask about your field, and work on the pages they draw from.
- Protecting traffic
- Watching for ranking drops, broken pages, and competitors moving in on your searches.
Past work: OurCrowd
300x
growth in search traffic from people who did not search for the company by name, over 24 months
OurCrowd is a venture investing platform. When Amos joined to lead its SEO, almost all of its search traffic came from people who already knew the name.
Many people were searching for how to invest in a particular technology, such as deep learning or nanotechnology, and few of the sites ranking for those searches were startup investment platforms. Amos built a page for each investment theme and a library on startup investing, and fixed the technical problems that kept pages from ranking.
OurCrowd's pages have ranked first on Google in the US for searches such as “invest in deep learning” and “invest in nanotechnology”.
“The results were outstanding and came far quicker than anyone expected.”
How to start
The brief
Tell Amos what you sell, who buys it, and what search has done for you so far. A short note is fine.
Scope and price
Set by the size of the site and how much needs doing, and agreed after the brief.
Who does the work
Amos Weiskopf founded Tevelis. He led OurCrowd's search from 2021 to 2023, and he also builds software and data systems, which helps when a ranking problem turns out to be an engineering one.

Questions buyers ask
What is B2B SEO?
Search engine optimization for companies whose customers are other businesses. Purchases are larger and usually involve several people, so the searches that matter tend to be specific and low in volume.
How long does B2B SEO take?
Usually months. It depends on where the site starts and how hard the searches are to rank for. At OurCrowd, the 300-fold growth took 24 months.
Is low search volume a problem?
Not necessarily. A search made fifty times a month can be worth more than one made fifty thousand times, if the right buyers are the ones making it.
Should I hire an SEO agency or a consultant?
An agency suits a steady volume of content and link work. A consultant suits a site that needs a strategy, a technical fix, or a second opinion on what an agency is doing.
Does it cover AI search?
Yes. More buyers now ask an AI assistant before they search. Tevelis checks what those assistants say about your company and your competitors, and improves the pages they rely on.
What does B2B SEO cost?
It depends on the size of the site and how much work it needs. The price is agreed after the written brief.
How is success measured?
By leads and sales from search where the tracking allows it, and otherwise by rankings and traffic on the searches your buyers make.
Engagements by written brief.
Work begins from a documented problem statement, not a sales call.
